The Jordan-European Investment Conference will take place on 19 November 2026. Organizers scheduled the event within the framework of the Jordan-EU Strategic and Full Partnership launched in January 2025. Eng. Fathi Al-Jaghbeer, President of the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Industry, stated: "The conference carries profound economic and strategic significance, especially given current regional challenges. Royal Patronage highlights the depth of Jordan-EU ties and a shared commitment to elevating economic cooperation to new heights. Jordan has proven its ability to maintain institutional and financial stability while continuously upgrading its investment ecosystem." He added: "While this growth is promising, it represents only a fraction of potential trade."
Strengthening Bilateral Economic Ties
The European Union has committed a financial and investment support package totaling 3 billion euros for the period between 2025 and 2027. This allocation aims to bolster economic cooperation within the framework of the ongoing partnership.
Trade data reflects an upward trend in commercial activity between the two partners. Jordanian national exports to the European Union rose by 21 percent during the first seven months of 2026. Official figures show that the value of these exports reached 367 million JOD during this period. This performance marks an increase from the 304 million JOD recorded in the first seven months of 2025.
Manufacturing Sector Performance Metrics
The Jordanian manufacturing sector currently contributes 24 percent to real GDP. Official records indicate that the industry employed approximately 271,000 workers last year. During that same period, the sector generated nearly 9 billion JOD in exports, reaching more than 150 global markets.
Economist Ali Murad noted the importance of integrating these industrial gains with broader development goals. "The government has put forward strategic projects across key infrastructure and industrial domains," he said. "The task for the local private sector is to forge joint ventures that transfer technical expertise, expand domestic supply networks, and deliver tangible jobs and income growth for Jordanian citizens."
Investment Opportunities and Future Outlook
The Jordanian government plans to present more than 40 major investment opportunities during the upcoming event. These projects carry a combined valuation in excess of 15 billion dollars. Officials intend for these initiatives to draw international interest and build upon the existing industrial and infrastructure goals established between Jordan and its European partners.
Ayman Al-Alawneh, Chairman of the Jordanian Businessmen Association, addressed the requirements for ensuring these projects transition from proposals to operational ventures. "Translating these opportunities into active projects requires structured follow-up, activated joint business councils, and direct integration of local small and medium-sized enterprises into international production chains," he said. His comments reflect an emphasis on connecting local private sector capacity with the technical expertise and market access expected from foreign participants. By linking these smaller domestic firms into wider production networks, stakeholders aim to create stable employment and long-term income growth within the national economy.
